Health Fitness Club Exercises

The state of the exercise world is constantly changing to be able to improve and become more efficient in meeting the needs of each participant. Those who are working out today don’t want to do hundreds of sit ups, crunches, or push ups. They want to achieve the same conditioning levels without the drudgery. In order to appeal to this group, many new techniques, routines, and exercises have been developed.

One of the newest additions to the exercise circuit is the introduction of boxing movements. These workouts emulate the techniques used in boxing and develop strength, tone and endurance. This workout claims to burn between 800 and 1000 calories in a single one hour session. It is like going 3 rounds in the ring.

Pilates is another new addition to the repertoire of exercises used at fitness clubs. As a form of resistance training, this technique uses exercise balls, rotating disks, and rubber resistance bands. The overall program will improve strength, flexibility, balance and the ability to breathe correctly.

Aerobic exercise is a mainstay in any successful program. Using a variety of movements, like walking, dancing, or continuous movements, these exercises will help to make your body operate more efficiently and effectively.

Muscle strength and tone is developed through the use of exercise equipment and is utilized at the fitness centers. In order to build stronger muscles, they will need to be pushed to their limit so that they are broken down and built up to be stronger than before. Since muscles burn more calories than fat, building additional muscle is important because it will help increase the rate of their body’s metabolism.

Doing These Exercises Properly

There is nothing that is more critical than doing the exercises properly and correctly. It is bad enough that if they are not done correctly the full benefit of the exercise will not be realized. Worse yet, improperly doing an exercise or improperly using a piece of equipment can cause physical damage. Improper sit ups, for example, can lead to mild or sever back problems.

It is obvious that doing each exercise every time the same way that it was intended to be done is mandatory. With that said, how does one know how or go about doing the exercises correctly. The most obvious resource is the personal trainer at the gym. Use them freely and ask for their advice and instruction. Unfortunately, with many machines and exercises, it is difficult to remember how to do each exercise as it is intended. There is just too much information to remember.

If a trainer isn’t available then seek help from other employees who are at the gym. They are familiar with the equipment, they know how it operates, and they can explain how to properly use it.

If neither of those options is workable, ask another member of the club who is working out on the same equipment. As a last resort, consult the chart or diagram posted on the wall by the machine and follow the instructions. These are made to be easily understood by those using their equipment.

Workout by Yourself or With a Trainer

There are many arguments, both for and against, regarding working out with a trainer. Do you workout by yourself or do you want to workout with a trainer? The issue boils down to personal choice depending on what is more comfortable.

There is absolutely no doubt that trainers push their clients harder than if they workout on their own. No matter how hard you push yourself; a trainer will push you harder. Trainers will add variety to your workout and insure that the exercises are being done correctly. That is an area that usually can’t be done individually.

If your schedule is tight and there isn’t a large amount of flexibility to match a workout time with a trainer, then working out by yourself will be necessary. At these times, it can’t be avoided.

Trainers are not cheap. If money is an issue, then cutting back on the workout sessions with a trainer may be a requirement.

Certainly, working out with a trainer is the optimum course of action but there are instances when working out individually may be the only way to get a workout in.
