A leading financial services company partnered with HealthFitness to manage and provide programs for its multi-tenant 8,448-square-foot corporate fitness center, where HealthFitness engaged 2,200 employees across 12 tenants in the building in their health and fitness.

Employees participated in cardio and strength training, group fitness, personal training, massage and robust health and fitness programming.

Here are five ways the on-site gym adds value beyond wellness.

1. Creates connections and community

Employees have shared that working out at the corporate fitness center is the best part of their day.

“My workout motivation starts in the fitness center. I love my gym friends and the staff!  We all need community, and the fitness center community is so important to me,” one member said.

“I really appreciate the effort you make to say hello and build relationships with me and the other members. Best gym experience I have had,” another member said.

2. Builds relationships and fitness goals

The HealthFitness team focused on building relationships and continually reached out to individuals with suggestions to help members succeed with their goals.

It was easier to make meaningful connections in person at the gym because when a member checks in at the front desk the HealthFitness team knew their name and offered help.

And members clearly appreciated this personal level of service. HealthFitness received a 100% client satisfaction rating and staff were praised for their flexibility and dedication to meet the needs of the members.

3. Provides a place to recharge

The HealthFitness team noticed a shift in why members worked out. For example, many memberrs returned to the fitness center for their physical health as well as their mental health, viewing the fitness center as a break from everything. Some members said the fitness center is their refuge.

Not only did members boost their physical and mental health, but they also enjoyed the activity. As a member of the month said, “Thank you for your advice and the welcoming community you've built at the fitness center. I am beyond humbled to be recognized when in all honesty—and thanks in large part to the staff—coming into the gym consistently has been as much fun as hard work.”

4. Delivers value and accountability

By offering an open house with free group exercise classes to get people interested, the HealthFitness team also helped keep members accountable to their fitness goals. Once they experienced the value of working out at the fitness center, they were hooked. Many members they stayed with the company because of their connection to the on-site fitness center.

5. Meets people where they are

Through providing fitness programs, challenges, education and group exercise classes, the HealthFitness team met people on their fitness journeys and helped them make connections.
